Nexus Partners with Drug Free Workplaces For TPA Services

Nexus and Drug Free Workplaces new partnership

Nexus 33 Group (Nexus Software Systems), a provider of compliance and case management technology for DOT drug and alcohol program oversight, today announced a strategic partnership with Drug Free Workplaces, a full-service Third Party Administrator (TPA) specializing in drug and alcohol program management.

The partnership combines Nexus’s purpose-built compliance platform with Drug Free Workplaces’ TPA services, creating a coordinated solution for employers operating under FMCSA, FAA, FRA, and FTA regulations.

Over the past several years, Nexus identified a recurring challenge among Designated Employer Representatives (DERs), HR leaders, and safety professionals: many organizations relied on TPA service portals to manage internal compliance oversight, often resulting in fragmented documentation, limited visibility, and spreadsheet-driven processes.

Nexus was built specifically to address internal program oversight—providing centralized visibility, audit-ready documentation, defensible workflows, and executive-level reporting. Recognizing that many employers still require experienced TPA administration, Nexus chose to partner with Drug Free Workplaces rather than expand into service delivery.

“We’re separating software from service — and strengthening both,” said Melvin Rodriguez, CEO of Nexus 33 Group. “Nexus provides the oversight and visibility employers need. Drug Free Workplaces delivers expert program administration and regulatory execution. Together, we offer a modern compliance model.”

Under the partnership, Nexus provides compliance and case management software designed for employers and DERs, while Drug Free Workplaces delivers full-service TPA support, including testing coordination, regulatory guidance, and program administration.

The unified model allows organizations to maintain internal control and audit readiness while relying on experienced service execution — without forcing service tools to function as management systems.

“This partnership ensures employers no longer have to choose between strong technology and reliable service,” said Thomas Roche, CEO of Drug Free Workplaces.
